Introduction

The first episode, on 24 November, is the most vivid. Local reporting based on the declassified file says a 32-year-old woman from Puente Almuhey described an object roughly two metres across, disc-shaped, red in tone and close to road level, visible for about ten minutes and moving very slowly. The second episode, on 8 December, shifted the setting from a close roadside object to a distant light near the village. The report as summarised in local press says three witnesses saw an unusual object between about 7.30pm and 8pm, roughly 400 metres from the locality and at an indicated height of about 400 metres. Two of the witnesses were railway employees on the La Robla narrow-gauge line: a pointsman and the station chief at Puente Almuhey. The third reported sighting, on 10 December, again involved a white light with slow movement and a long duration. Accounts of the file describe three statements between 7pm and 8pm: two witnesses placed the object towards the south-west and said they watched it for around 90 minutes, while another did not specify direction and gave a duration of about two hours.
