That explanation fits several features of the Palencia-area account. Venus is extremely bright, often visible around dusk, and can look startling when seen low in a clear evening sky. It does not need to move in order to seem unusual: changing viewing angles from a moving vehicle, passing cloud, atmospheric haze, and the short duration of witness attention can all create the impression of motion or disappearance. How Palencia fits the wider Castile and León UFO map
Palencia does not appear to have the same density of famous UFO lore as some Spanish hotspots.
